Gartner Rose Redfern Station Entry

Redfern Station Entry Project Completion

Gartner Rose is delighted to announce the safe and successful completion of the new Redfern Station Entry for Sydney Trains.

Over 42 weeks of construction, including 7 possession weekends, a total of 23,000 hours were worked to complete the new station entrance on the corner of Gibbons and Lawson Streets.

The new entrance was constructed to replace the old entrance on Gibbons Street allowing improved commuter movement throughout the station, particularly to platforms 11 and 12.

A brief scope of the works includes:

  • The new covered concourse area establishing a new “main entrance” with the closing of the existing Gibbons Street entrance (FLR Poles) and establishing a new ticket gate line comprising nine new ticket gates in the new concourse.
  • The installation of new LED lighting, digital CCTV coverage, passenger information displays, and new wayfinding.
  • The integration of a new bicycle storage facility into the new concourse building.
  • Installation of a new storage and garbage handling room in the new entrance building to replace the existing garbage kiosk.

The now open, well-lit and vibrant concourse celebrates aboriginal culture, acknowledging the aboriginal community and the history of Redfern.

Congratulations to everyone for bringing this project to a safe completion and a special thanks to the site team, subcontractors and suppliers.
