Rail Safety Week 2024

Gartner Rose supports Rail Safety Week.

We participated in supporting the 2024 Rail Safety Week campaign which, this year, continued to raise awareness of the importance of rail safety and to “Expect the Unexpected”.

Collective activities during Rail Safety Week and beyond will help reach audiences far and wide, reminding our community on how to stay #railsafe. These ongoing issues put lives at risk, severely disrupt rail services and have serious impacts on train drivers and other rail workers, along with the wider community. “Expect the Unexpected” message this year promotes awareness of surroundings. Messages include “Phone Down. Look Up”, “Pause Your Tunes. Listen for Trains” and “Stay Safe. Stand Behind the Line”.

Throughout Rail Safety Week (5-11 August 2024), Gartner Rose updated its email signatures and Microsoft Teams / Zoom backgrounds to promote this important message. Gartner Rose also hosted a site BBQ at Mount Colah Station, the location of one of our current rail projects, with an accompanying safety inspection and toolbox talk about Rail Safety Week.

Tool box talks were also undertaken on our other rail sites (The Greenway, Mount Colah Station and Mortdale Maintenance Centre) and non-rail sites.

We thank our project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders for their continued awareness and engagement in safe rail practices.
